We are an artistic community with a common set of values in neoclassicism, who aim to create art of meaningful, lasting value. We strive to the standards of the immortal greats and to inspire a love of existence.

These are tough times for good art and smart people. Finding a voice loud enough and strong enough to penetrate above the masses of dumb people and their recombinant non-ideas is difficult. The encouragement and the incentives to try are rarely also obviously there; sticking to the established stream of ideas is a proven profit maker and more certain also not to alienate you from the broad part of society.
However whilst people know they would rather have another composer of Beethoven's calibre than another four chord rock band the environment is not fit for achieving this. As a result western culture(s) has stagnated.
We at HI.ARC.TOW & Hessian.org believe that if enough people with a goal in common work together this present state of affairs can be transcended and worthwhile enduring art can emerge. By focusing our efforts together we will amplify our voice and by devoting ourselves to develop the skills and understanding necessary for creating good art we will be able to scrutinize each others efforts more thoroughly, thereby encouraging growth.
We aim to provide the fertile ground in which this can grow, utilising in particular what is by far now the most far reaching media: the internet.
Our goals are: to assist people in the development of the necessary skills to create good work, provide more direct assistance where possible/requested, offer constructive criticism of work, promote that which think deserves attention - even hosting work on this website if the artist so chooses.
Our practice of giving away perfectly good music for free has caused some to become disgruntled in their confusion -- how can we hand it out for free if it's any good? We don't advertise. We don't have catchy jingles or copyrighted slogans. People don't trust us because they don't understand our motivation.
The goal that unites us is art. Since a turd with a sticker on it can be "art," we mean better art, that is both proficient and relevant to our lives. Making decent art and giving it out free gets around all the bullshit and straight to promoting art, for no reason other than life is much brighter with it.
It's not our policy that all bands will give their music away free, but some will. If you are one of the few who can see past the money = value control meme, give us a listen.
All work available from the HI.ARC.TOW website for free download is licenced under a Creative Commons Licence. This makes it free to share (to copy, distribute and transmit the work) and to remix (to adapt the work) provided you properly attribute the artists and do not exploit the work for commercial purposes unless given permission.
